This is the reigning cranberry sauce at Thanksgiving in my house – though it not my favorite – and it is easy and simple. 3 ingredients and less than 15 minutes and you should make it ahead of time (1 or 2 days prior).
What you’ll need:
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 12 oz of fresh cranberries, rinsed
Place the water and sugar in a nonreactive pan (i.e. not aluminum) and bring to a boil until sugar is dissolved. Add your cranberries and bring back to a boil.
Reduce heat to low and cook for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and put into a lidded bowl and refrigerate.
Done. That is it!
If you want to add more flavor you can swap out the water for orange juice (low pulp or fresh).
Happy Thanksgiving!
